there will come a day…

~Alex Christopher Mercado~
Your day has come… rest in the sweet arms of Jesus, precious boy! I’ll meet you there soon.

PS: For those of you who haven’t read the previous post, this is the young child who inspired my heart-felt response. Apparently, yours as well. Thanks for weighing in with your thoughts and support.

Hold onto your faith, friends … there is coming a day.

  1. Just read both posts. News of this had not filtered my way. I find myself thankful I hadn't heard, yet at the same time wondering why this little boys death didn't make "news" across the borders. Is it because the life of a child has lost it's value? Is it because there are just so many similar stories they can't report them all? So sad. So heartbreakingly sad.

I spent my morning yesterday helping with 13 little 4 year olds. Precious in His sight…and mine.

Elaine, you spoke His Word well. Although my heart is crushed by this act that leaves me questioning the hows and whys, thank you for giving Alex's life a voice.

    Until that day,
    Joy

  2. I didn't see your previous post until Monday, as I was gone for the weekend. There were so many comments that echoed your heart, that I didn't add mine at that time. Putting a face to that dear boy makes this abuse even more heinous.

I truly cannot imagine the kinds of evil that go on, and especially abuse of our precious kids and teens. It breaks my heart, as it does yours.

Thanks for the hope–there IS coming a day when God will wipe away all tears.

Oh, Lord, let me be more sensitive to the needs around me and willing to help when it is possible.

  3. What a perfect, soul-stirring song to add to your remembrance and ours.

    Blessings,

  4. So sad to see yet another child's life end by selfish violence.

I love your heart and your righteous anger, and the simple plea to God as to when we can be by His side forever.

    Blessings to you today,
    Lindsey

  5. what a beutiful song to honor this small child's life. Thank you for bringing attention to this precious boy's life … and horrendous death.

A day is coming – and his avenger will ride up on a white horse!

  6. As I look at the photo of this precious child I can just imagine him walking and talking with Jesus RIGHT NOW! So horrible that he had to suffer especially as such an innocent but how wonderful that life didn't end for him but that he is now experiencing life eternal.

On a more somber note, I notice that this four-year-old is wearing a shirt exactly like one my four-old-granddaughter loves to wear. It just somehow brings it closer home to me.

  7. Oh goodness Elaine…"There will come a day when sin will have no trace in the Glory of His Amazing Grace"…….My heart has been so pierced this day for the injustices and pain of so many and that part of the song just caused what I've been sensing within my heart to overflow in prayer and praise…….Oh yes the day where sin will have no trace is quickly approaching! Come quickly Lord Jesus!

    Sweet Blessings!

  8. He said…….Suffer the little children to come unto me……

There is a day coming that God will judge those that harm the little children…..

Beautiful song….. Sweet peace to this precious boy…

  9. What a precious little boy — and what a sad story. Can't help but think that Jesus is giving him lots of special attention right now…
