25 Responses to God Keeps Pace with Your Pain

  1. Dear Elaine, this video couldn't have come at a better time for me. Just last night I had to return to Manila for a relational problem between my daughter and my sister. Painful words had been exchanged and it should not have ended the way it did… but it did.

I bought a ticket at the last minute and here I am back in Manila wanting to be an agent of reconciliation, a messenger of peace… but I feel used, manipulated, taken advantage of, bullied, and trampled all over.

A part of me is angry, and a part is hurting for my daughter… and yes, I am in pain.

Listening to your words I couldn't help but shed tears with you.

Thank you for saying it so beautifully – God keeps pace with my pain.

I rejoice with you that the ground beneath your feet has remained sacred all along… God hasn't left. He waited for you, and now walks with you at the pace that you can take. Those indeed are comforting words you have shared.

    Much love

  2. God has not gone anywhere….He's right there with you….

Whether the "journey" be physical pain, severe disappointment, loss, or fill in the blank…..

I'm celebrating the solemn occasion of your "run" this morning, Elaine.

  3. Your words so beautifully bring God's message to pain, an issue I'm deaing with at this season in my life. I'm embracing this message today! Yes, our Father "keeps pace with our pain," and even this present ground is sacred because his imprint is here. Thank you, precious friend! Much love!

  4. You vlog post today, Elaine, has been such an inspiration to me. Please remember me & my husband in your prayers. We've had one struggle after another and the stress is mounting to the point of breaking. Thank you for allowing God to use you to bless us. I believe you have my email addy. You can msg me there or on facebook. Hugz & Blessings!

  5. Can I just say how beautiful you are??? You are beautiful my friend!!

We have been on different journeys but with such similarities. There has been pain in my "respite", pain in your cancer. Brokenness, fear, loniness. just to name a few of things we have expereinced on our seperate journies..but rebirth Ah, the rebirth is so sweet, and so worth it!! And it was evident God has been there all the time, keeping pace with our lives, getting us just where He needed us.

I am embracing this next step and so look forward to the sharing of your life sweet friend. God is boldly directing me with Isaiah 58:10-11 and Acts 28:18 and I am just giddy (and humbled) with anticipation of each step He is asking of me!!

You inspire me with His words of annointment. Have a blessed new season! Sending you many cyber hugs!!!!

  6. It seems I am using this scripture a lot lately, but your blog reminded me again… "And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten".

That is what He is doing for you Elaine. I have that sense of healing and restoring and forward moving when I think of you. And I LOVE the green bb cap!!

Keep running, as you said so well…He is keeping pace, as He faithully did through the pain, so He is also in the healing.

    Love you!

  7. The verse Sonja quoted has also been on my heart lately. I loved that you have turned this page, so to speak, and a year later some of what you lost has been restored. Such a blessing.

  8. Your message is bringing even more sunshine to our day, Elaine!!! You've been carried and now you are walking, running, and serving with even greater depth and fervor. Bask in it, and continue to spread your joy in God's love as you savor the pace of your travels on Holy Ground.
May you have always love and increasing peace for your journey,
    R&B
    P. S. We'll be thinking of you especially tomorrow as well.

  9. Praise the Lord, Elaine! So excited for the new ministries God is bringing into your life. You will have so much to share with those ladies. How do I bookmark this thought for when I face pain in my life. Thanks be to our God for His constancy.

  10. So wonderful to 'see' you again! You look great, and I'm so glad you enjoyed your run. Thank you for the encouraging words…and for allowing the Lord to speak through you.

  11. Hey Elaine, thanks for praying for Luke and I lately, I know I really need it! I will pray for you, it does sound like God is moving in your life, I pray that you will have all discernment and wisdom in every task He gives you to His glory. Blessings to you today too.

  12. Oh what praise that you are back on the road again. I myself am just getting back to pace after surgery. Like you, I appreciate each gift of greater strength and endurance.

Thanks for sharing and mercy me sweet girl…the Lord has some great work in store for you and your ministry. I'm praying for you every inch of the way.

    Love,
    Nancy

  13. "Choices" To be or not to be a woman of God!! I taught Alicia's study several years ago and Loved it!!
It seems in these days of grief I have not made many choices to be a woman of God. I've allowed myself to have some lonesome pity parties and I realize I need to get my head out of the sand, look up and see the Glory of His presence.
Wish I could join you for your new study but will be praying as God speaks to your heart and into the lives of the women He places in the class!
    Here's to a new day!

  14. Oh Elaine, you are such a blessing. I know I write that all the time to you but it is TRUE! Thank you. I have walked a long, hard road this year but God has been keeping pace with me. He has been spurring me on and moving me in His direction. It's not been an easy road but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I am in a new chapter and so looking forward to what God has next….

    Blessings!

  15. Elaine, I'm so glad you feel like you're turning a corner. That's wonderful!

Someone I love dearly is in a very painful place today so you know what that means — I've been hurting, too. What comfort in hearing today that God keeps pace with our pain. He sure knows what we need, doesn't He? In fact, the blog post I just posted, I had written several days ago. Yes, He knows what we — and others — need…

  16. Green suits you! The backdrop of the tree's foliage, your running attire & the refreshment of the message made of this post a respite.

To think how far you've come in a mere year …

    Watch out world!

  17. Elaine, too often I box myself in with my pain instead of inviting God into my pain. When I invite, His healing balm spreads over me with warmth and healing.

  18. Thank you so much for always being so willing to share your heart with us. Watching you (from afar) walk this journey has been such an encouragement to me. You have revealed to me in a real why that God is there keeping pace in all our pain. I know that He will see me through anything because I have seen Him do it for you and others. Again thank you for sharing. I pray that you continue to gain strength daily.

  19. Sooooooooooo good to hear your voice tonight Elaine !! You are doing extra well in your exercise it seems to me. Especially since I do well to just WALK a mile! Thank you for taking time to video and let us see you talk to us! You're looking great !!!

    Love you!

  20. wifeforthejourney:

How good it is to be able to see and hear you celebrating the progress in both your recovery and in your "journey." You look and sound great!

It is difficult to fathom how much ground has been covered from August 31, 2010 to August 31, 2011. You do indeed have a testimony that has grown out of your long suffering. Celebrating you, and the pace you share with the Lord!

    Love,
    ~ Billy
