A Christmas PS…

There’s a new toy in town…

the Flip Ultra. Check it out. I’ve longed for a way to communicate with you face to face. Well, at least screen to screen. This is the most affordable solution along those lines. My husband did a ton a research into this purchase, and I was thrilled with my surprise yesterday morning. It’s the easiest recording device out there and just may revolutionize our journey in blog land!

Christmas 2008 has come and gone; still and yet, our hearts remain. And wherever there is a pulse, there is the truth of eternity. Carry it well, friends. Get to it. Keep to it. To Jesus and to all things eternal.

May the peaceful rest of Bethlehem’s pause be your portion as you go. As always,

  1. Fun toy! It’s nice to have a little “face to face” in this impersonal blogosphere.
Actually, if I closed my eyes, I would swear you were my husband’s niece. You sound just alike (she grew up in VA and now lives in NC).

Anyway, it was nice “chatting” with you!

  2. I flat out ADORE you. Want to move to your town and be your best friend.

What awesome words you speak over this year.

The Lord has been speaking that same phrase to me this week!

Let’s get to it, girl. Let’s get to it.

    Much Love,
    Kristen

  3. Now that’s way cool! This could be the best gadget ever for rendering cyberspace a whole lot more like our real neighborhoods.

Cool present; great videography; lovely expressions.

    Woohoo!
    Kathleen

P.S. How fun to have a glimpse into the animated Elaine. Precious.

  4. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

LOVE YOU!!! So wonderful to hear your voice again and see your precious face. Thank Billy for me for giving you such a fabulous gift…a gift that lets your words come to life…words that have so often give me life.

    Love you,
    Joy

  5. I love putting a voice with a face!
This is too neat. I love your words here…and I’m with you…let’s get to it! I had a really good aha moment on Christmas Eve and I’m ready to get to it!

  6. You sound just like I thought. Truly this is a fabulous gift. I even loved hearing the train whistling in the back round. Thanks for your continued insights on the day. Love and Blessings!!

  7. What an awesome gift for us – to now hear and see your amazing gift of words and thought to come to life! Beautiful!

I can almost smell the rain; feel the breeze as the cars pass by and experience the vibration of the train as travels nearby — all of it is like a ribbon on the gift. Bringing a sense of the familiar from your life to mine!

    Looking forward to more moments!

  8. How enjoyable to see and hear you as you use your Christmas present! Keep the good news coming!
    Love,
    R&B

  9. I just love hearing your voice, Elaine! That little twang is so sweet. Sounds like your Christmas was too! We survived…
this is one for the history books. It’s not over yet–mother-in-law called this morning to say she came down with the bug on Christmas night. Yikes! Now I’m worrying about getting it all over again!

    Love ya!

  10. Ok Elaine…Our secret is slowly leaking out as to how fabulous you are and how precious you are to us here in “Rosewood”. Don’t get to famous—we want to keep you!!
    Love you,
    Beth
    choooooo…chooooooo

  11. One thing I love about my Christian faith is that the Christmas story is woven throughout the scriptures so everytime we study the Bible, we get to be reminded of how Christ came and why.

  12. Hmmm…looks like God has delivered, through you, a new catch-phrase for us all, “Let’s get to it!” I like, I like…

Heard the train in the background…we live near some RR tracks, too. I love to open my bedroom windows at night (in the summer, of course), and listen for the distant whistle of the train. It echos off the mountains that surround us. A very familiar, comforting sound for me!

Blessings to you in the new year, dear friend…looking forward to more “face to face” messages from you!

  13. Awesome! Thanks for the message. It’s chilly and damp here too. I just got back from a walk with my hubby and I couldn’t agree with you more. Let’s get our shoes on and just do this thing!

  14. Christmas Greetings to you! I found you through the Leaking Window and am so glad I stopped by, thanks for the encouragement!

  15. Glad to see I’m not the only one who got a gadget like this one for Christmas. I got a mini video camera too. Not sure when I’ll be brave enough to post a video. This is my first time to your blog, but it won’t be my last. I enjoyed reading your “about me” page and look forward to running this race with you.

    Your Sister in Christ,

    Paula

  16. Tell your hubby “good job!” on his gift to you! Will look forward to more of these kinds of messages. And you are right, we are in it for the long haul. So nice to have friends to travel the road with, isn’t it?

Also wanted you to know, Elaine, that the CD arrived while I was away visiting my parents. Thanks again — can’t wait to listen to it!

  17. Elaine, it is great to “see” you like this. What a sweet message. We love you, too.

  18. Loved it, Elaine! It was so cool to watch the ad and see our CN tower in the background–yay!–good ole Toronto! You can bet I’ll be looking out for it if ever I am able to purchase one…
as for you, how adorable you are…I chuckled at one of the comments about moving where you are to be your best friend…cuz that’s how you seem to affect your readers…we all want to be your best friend…
and do you hear those trains all the time? Anyway, blessings to you…
    Love, Sita

  19. Wow! Elaine in 4-D! Love it!

Very cool toy – I love getting to hear you, as it adds so much when I “read” you!

Your words are a boost to my spirit and an inspiration to my soul. I’m with “dancinginthemargins” – I suspect you have a slew of “best friends” with a hankerin’ to move next door. :o)

    Big ol’ hugs this day,
    Melinda

  20. Many will thing that I am just the craziest woman out there, but with tears welling up, my heart about to explode, this little clip means the world to me. It’s like the closest thing to meeting you and I don’t take that lightly!

From Kansas to North Carolina…I love you Miss Elaine! You challenge me, encourage me and most importantly to my little pea pickin’heart…you love me.

    Yolanda

  21. I just love it. I decided to try re-starting my computer to see if that would help and it did. WOW! I am so glad I did that. Now I can be apart of this amazing piece of technology right along side you!
Have a great week! And a wonderful, blessed NEW YEAR!

  22. You know what I liked about this?
Just plain and simple. Words of love and concern told without fancy words that I have to ponder the meaning of…just real everyday.
Your heart screams loud and clear here….and it touches other hearts that are just looking for some real in this world that has gotten so lost in words and fancy.
    Love ya girl

  23. I am bummed beyond words. For whatever reason, my computer won’t allow me to see (or hear) the little recording you’ve apparently made. Waaahhh!

Wishing you a blessed and prosperous 2009, Elaine!

  24. Hi Elaine, I’m so glad to meet you here. And I especially love your video. What a fun trip these blogs would be if we could all “talk” with one another this way. Love it! Love your message and love your blog. Happy New Year!!!

  25. Elaine – loved, loved, loved hearing your voice again! I just spoke these words the other day, “God has reunited me with people from my past who he felt I needed in my life once again.” Hearing you confirmed that once again to me. Although we are separated by distance we are connected by the King! I am writing your words “Let’s Get To It” as my motto and inspiration for 2009. I feel God is doing something in my life and you have been the catalyst to the new spark going on!

God Bless, and I can’t wait to “hear” more from you soon!

  26. My girlfriend Paula has been telling me now for weeks that I need to do what you just did! You have a beautiful blog, a beautiful heart for Christ, and I LOVE the name of your blog.
Blessings sister…Now to get me one of these up at my blog,,lol. I keep telling Paula though, I’m not sure if the world is ready to hear all the back ground noise of my busy famiy, and me turning around and telling everyone to be quiet (at the top of my lungs of course)lol.blush blush.

  27. ” But when God breathes his Word into the minds and hearts and mouths of willing pilgrims, his vertical takes the stage and his everlasting pens its story.

This is what God is after in you and in me, and this has become the overriding intent and forecast for my future journey. Giving voice to Jesus and his Word is the only boast worthy of this heart; thus, I surrender my words for his renown and glory alone.”

Girl, this blessed me so much!!I could just cry when I read Giving voice to Jesus and His Word is the only baost worthy of this heart; thus, I surrender my words for His renown and glory alone. amen amen amen

Your just adorable. I’m adding you to my bloglist so I can keep ‘tabs’ on ya..((hugs))

  28. What a blessing to get to hear your voice..and it is just how I imagined it would be…FULL of gentle Southern love.

Bless you friend. Your blog has been a blessing to me in more ways than I can count.

God has gifted you friend, and I am one of the recipients of that gift.

  29. How Cool! What fun to hear that sweet voice that goes with those beautiful words. Thanks so much for being a part of my journey.
Blessings and Peace for this New Year!
    Marita

Have fun with this new gift-I look forward to how you will minister to us through it!

    In His Graces~Pamela

  31. Elaine,

I,too, loved seeing you “live” and in person! Only thing that is a bummer is that I still have dial-up internet so the most I was ever able to see was about half of it even though I let it “buffer” for half an hour or more!! We’re hoping to get satellite or something this year so we can have fast access. But at least I got to hear your voice!

    God bless!

    Marilyn

  32. This is WAY too much fun!!! I was already feeling restless that I needed a new look for the new year over at my place – you have truly inspired me (for the umpteenth time this year). Love you!

  33. Thanks for stopping by my site and leaving the comment about the shower curtain being up by next Christmas. You brought a HUGE smile to my face 🙂

    Love in Christ,

  34. Wow, Elaine! That was a neat way to meet you.

    Thanks!
